History
Hollywood Theatre, situated in the seaside suburb of Sumner Christchurch, opened in 1938 as a single cinema with Wings of the Morning starring Henry Fonda. The cinema was twined in 1976 and tripled in 1999. It is the only suburban cinema in Christchurch still standing and still running after 70 years of operation.
