About Metro by Hoyts
Contact & About
Hoyts' Metro cinema offers something a little different from a mainstream multiplex. Billed as “a blend of your favourite movie house and the streets of New York City”, it offers subway-style decor with American-style diner food (which you can take into the theatres). As well, catering for the film enthusiast, the cinema operates a “no disturbance” policy: no latecomers once the main feature starts, plus talkers and texters will be politely asked to leave.
The cinema is fully licensed and offers a wide range of beer, wine, spirits and low/non alcoholic beverages. Metro's two upstairs theatres have powered recliners in every seat.
Getting Here, Map & Parking
Four hours of free parking is available at the Centre Place car park with a validated parking ticket. Get your ticket validated at the cinema.
The Hamilton Transport Centre is just over the road from Centre Place, so if you're bussing in take any route that stops there.
Specials
Hoyts Cinemas have discounted sessions throughout the week. You can find these by looking for the sessions marked 'Saver' or 'Super Saver'. The level of discounting varies, but tends to be around $5 a ticket.
There are further discounts available for Hoyts Rewards members.
History
Metro by Hoyts opened its doors in 2013 with five screens. Cinemas six and seven opened in April 2017, the first “every seat a recliner” theatres in Hamilton.
