Roxburgh's historic theatre, opened on 11 December 1897, is New Zealand's oldest operating cinema. Today it has two screens, the main auditorium which seats 258 and a smaller theatre seating 14, with digital projection and 35mm capabilities. Run by volunteers and as a Charitable Trust, all ticket proceeds go towards maintaining, improving and updating the Roxburgh.
