My Life with the Walter Boys (December 7)
After a family tragedy, teenager Jackie trades her life in New York City for a ranch in Colorado with her new guardian and a family of ten boys. In this coming-of-age take on the fish-out-of-water story meets small town romance, Jackie struggles to adjust to a new school and her new living arrangements—especially when two of the older boys specifically catch her eye.
Under Pressure: The U.S. Women’s World Cup Team (December 12)
With four World Cup titles and four Olympic gold medals, the U.S. Women’s national soccer team is one of the most decorated women’s soccer teams in the world. This behind-the-scenes docuseries follows the team as they prepare for and compete in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, held right here across Australia and New Zealand. Leave the World Behind (December 8)
Based on the novel by Rumaan Alam, Leave the World Behind is a tense, suspenseful disaster story about a family vacation on Long Island being interrupted by a cyberattack blackout. With an all-star cast of Julia Roberts, Ethan Hawke, Mahershala Ali and Myha’la Herrold, tensions rise as the characters question everything about themselves, and their role in the world.
Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget (December 15)
Chicken Run was a defining animated film of the 2000s (who could forget “but I don’t want to be a pie!”), and one of Aardman studio’s best works. Now, the long-awaited sequel arrives on Netflix. Starring voicework from the likes of Thandiwe Newton, Bella Ramsey, Zachary Levi, and Imelda Staunton, a fearless flock of chickens try to save one of their own—could we expect “but I don’t want to be a chicken nugget!” to enter the zeitgeist?
Maestro (December 20)
Bradley Cooper returns to the seats of both director and star in his new biopic about the great conductor and composer Leonard Bernstein (Cooper) and his life-long relationship with Felicia Montealegre Cohn Bernstein (Carey Mulligan). Switching between black and white and colour cinematography, this film is sure to be an epic exploration of art, love, and a tremendous life.
