Portrait of legendary Iranian filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami, crafted by his friend and long-time collaborator, photographer Seifollah Samadian.
"76 Minutes… is not a traditional biographical documentary of the pioneering Iranian filmmaker, photographer, artist and poet. Rather, it's an elegant collage of footage assembled from 25 years of friendship between Kiarostami and long time collaborator Samadian. Kiarostami gained international acclaim with his Palme d'Or winner Taste of Cherry and The Wind Will Carry Us (1999). Samadian's exclusive footage of Kiarostami at home and at work reveals the influential director to be a joyful, even playful figure, intensely interested in the world around him. The title refers to the film's length, and to the fact that Kiarostami was 76 years and 15 days old when he died." (Sydney Film Festival)
