Daniel Brühl (The King's Man) and Sebastian Hülk (Dark) lead this BAFTA-winning adaptation of Erich Maria Remarque's groundbreaking World War I novel, directed by Emmy nominee Edward Berger (Patrick Melrose).
Paul Baumer and his friends Albert and Muller, egged on by romantic dreams of heroism, voluntarily enlist in the German army. Full of excitement and patriotic fervour, the boys enthusiastically march into a war they believe in. But once on the Western Front, they discover the soul-destroying horror of World War I.
This is the third screen adaptation of Remarque's novel, following the Oscar-winning 1930 feature from director Lewis Milestone and the 1979 TV movie from director Delbert Mann.
