Screwball romantic-comedy classic directed by Howard Hawks, starring Katharine Hepburn and Cary Grant. While trying to secure a $1 million donation for his museum, a befuddled palaeontologist (Grant) is pursued by a flighty heiress (Hepburn) with a unique sense of logic, and her pet leopard 'Baby'.
A critical and financial failure on release, Bringing Up Baby was reappraised in the 1950s when it started showing on TV. Since then, its reputation has grown to classic status, featuring in the American Film Institute's Top 100 American Films of All Time (88th) and Funniest Films of All Time (14th). Peter Bogdanovich's What's Up Doc? (1972) is loosely based on the film.
