Frank Allen (Ryan Reynolds), celebrated author of the bestseller The Five Minute Efficiency Trainer, lives a highly ordered life using a system of timetables and index cards.

His patient wife Susan (Emily Mortimer), begins to find his obsessive schedule-keeping irritating. So she has an idea to loosen him up a bit. She winds his clock back ten minutes, but inadvertently unleashes a series of chaotic events that unravel Frank's routine beyond repair. Then Frank receives some emotional news, and is forced to live life 'in the moment'.
