After her mother is fatally injured in a car accident, grief-stricken Jia finds herself transported back in time to the year 1981 where she becomes her mother's close friend. Feeling like their future lives are not what they should be, Jia tries to hook her mum up with a kinder husband and change their trajectories. Hi, Mom is adapted from Jia Ling's 2016 sketch comedy and inspired by her own life.
