A crooner (Bing Crosby) and a dancer (Fred Astaire) vie for the affections of a beautiful young performer (Marjorie Reynolds) in this 1942 American musical directed by Mark Sandrich. Winner of the 1943 Academy Award for Best Original Song for White Christmas.
Jim Hardy (Crosby) and Lila Dixon (Virgina Dale) are members of a performing trio from New York who plan to quit and run a country hotel. When Lila says she has fallen in love with the dancer in the act, Ted (Fred Astaire), Jim leaves town with a broken heart. After turning the inn into a holidays-only live entertainment venue, Jim winds up booking - and falling for - up-and-coming performer Linda Mason (Reynolds). But when Ted shows up after being dumped by Lila, he too sets his sights on beautiful Linda.
