In modern day San Francisco, Louis de Pointe du Lac (Pitt) tells his life story to a reporter, beginning with the moment he was bitten by the fangs of vampire Lestat (Cruise) in 1971... Having lost both his wife and child during birth, Louis loses his will to live. He attracts the attention of Lestat, a vampire who offers him the chance for immortality. With his humanity left in the past, Louis must learn from his elder how to manage his new-found blood lust – the following years presenting love, loneliness and betrayal.
