Winner of seven Academy Awards and regarded as one of the greatest movies ever made, David Lean's 1962 epic Lawrence of Arabia is based on the life of eccentric British Officer T.E. Lawrence (Peter O'Toole). Lawrence succeeds in uniting the Arab tribes and goes to war against the occupying Turkish army in World War I.
"Grand in every sense, David Lean's film is an example of an established director full of confidence and ambition. Nearly four hours long, several years in the making, and complete with an interval and its own overture, Lawrence of Arabia aims for greatness and achieves it." (BBC)
