The director of 2014's Blancanieves adapts the popular graphic novel by Sara Varon, following the misadventures of a dog and a robot in 1980s New York City.
During an ill-fated day-trip to Long Island, friends Dog and Robot get separated. After Robot goes for a swim, he rusts up and is unable to move: Dog is forced to leave him behind on the beach. Back in the city, he tries to fill the emotional gap left by the absence of his friend, while Robot awaits rescue, finding comfort in vivid dreams and happy memories of time spent with Dog.
