Japan's high priest of cinematic eccentricities and extremities Takashi Miike (Audition, Happiness of the Katakuris) presents his latest, typically leftfield offering - an adaptation of spaghetti western classic A Fistful of Dollars. The story (and it's cowboy-ness) is relocated to feudal Japan, where a nameless man rides into town and is convinced to restore order in the lawless town by long suffering locals. Although a Japanese production, the actors deliver their lines in phonetic English. Quentin Tarantino appears in a cameo, amongst the weirdness.
