The Balconettes

Actor Noémie Merlant makes her sophomoric directorial feature, working from a script she co-wrote with filmmaker Céline Sciamma (Portrait of a Lady on Fire). Nominated for the Queer Palm at Cannes, the film follows three roommates during a searing heat wave in Marseille. As the neighbourhood boils, the trio finds themselves trapped in a terrifying affair and longing for freedom.
