The Human Scale

Danish architect and urban designer Jan Gehl is the key figure in this documentary examining human behaviour in cities. A student of urban environments for 50 years and the leading figure behind modern-day Copenhagen (inspiration to cities worldwide), Gehl travels from city to city in The Human Scale, using them as examples to convey his theories. From Copenhagen to New York, Los Angeles, Chonqing, Siena, Melbourne, Auckland and Christchurch, Gehl offers his insights into how we shape, and are shaped by, the cities we live in, and how they can change to serve us for the better or worse.
