Oscar winner Daniel Day-Lewis leads this historical adventure from director Michael Mann (Heat) following three trappers' attempt to protect a British Colonel's daughter while caught in the middle of the French and Native American War.
As the British and French soldiers battle for control of the American colonies in the 18th century, the settlers and native Americans are forced to take sides. Cora (Madeleine Stowe) and her sister Alice (Jodhi May) unwittingly walk into trouble but are reluctantly saved by Hawkeye (Day-Lewis), an orphaned settler adopted by the last of the Mohicans.
His first big-budget Hollywood film, Day-Lewis prepped for the role by staying in the wilderness for several months and living off the land.
