A French adaptation of Phillipe Grimbert's based-on-fact novel about a man (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly’s Mathieu Amalric) who recalls his unsettling family history after being informed that his elderly father has disappeared.
The story takes us back to his youth when, as a disappointment to his champion-athlete parents, he discovers a strange toy in the attic and thus uncovers a 'secret' (NB: that's the one the title refers to) about his family's unsettling past.
