Vivian Bearing (Emma Thompson, Good Luck to you, Leo Grande) is a renowned English literature professor whose life is profoundly changed when she is diagnosed with Stage IV ovarian cancer.
As Vivian's illness progresses, she serves as a guinea pig for oncologist Harvey Kelekian (Christopher Lloyd, Queen Bees), undergoing tests, increasingly experimental treatments and the resultant side effects. Bedbound, Vivian attempts to put everything in perspective by revisiting significant moments from her life.
Directed by Mike Nichols (Charlie Wilson's War), this Peabody Award-winning drama also stars Audra McDonald (The Bite) and Eileen Atkins (Tea with the Dames).
