Audience reactions from our recent Three Thousand Years of Longing preview
See what some of our guests had to say about the Tilda Swinton/Idris Elba romantic fantasy Three Thousand Years of Longing.
Three Thousand Years of Longing
Director George Miller returns to cinemas with romantic fantasy Three Thousand Years of Longing. It follows an academic (Tilda Swinton) who encounters a genie (Idris Elba) who, as happens in these sorts of things, offers her three wishes in exchange for his freedom…
As Miller told Eliza Janssen in their interview for Flicks, “whether it’s, you know, films about talking pigs, or dancing penguins, or a djinn in the modern day, or a post-apocalyptic world, the story is the thing.” This particular story is itself very much about stories, and according to Travis Johnson’s Flicks review is “a flawed gem, but it’s still a gem, rich and multifaceted in a way few films are these days.”
But enough from Flicks! What did punters at our preview screenings Three Thousand Years of Longing think? Here are some reactions (including one that might get you revisiting these guys on repeat).
