Between Two Ferns with James Franco, plus Judy Blume, a Lesbian & hookers

Zach Galifianakis is back with another episode of Between Two Ferns. This time his guest/victim is Spring Breakers star James Franco, as well as a Spring Break-themed musical guest. NSFW? Moderately…

Judy Blume Hits Big Screen

The Guardian has an interesting story about young adult novelist Judy Blume, beloved by teen girls but loathed by conservatives for her frank and honest depictions of adolescence, puberty and other scandalous gross things that happen to our bodies and stuff.

Despite being read by millions and there being a massive market for cinematic coming-of-age tales, Blume’s been in the too-hard basket for decades now, though this seems set to change with the adaptation of her novel Tiger Eyes.

Couple of Klowns tackle Lesbian

After seeing the awesome Danish comedy Klown, Sacha Baron Cohen reportedly headed to Denmark to persuade the duo behind it, Casper Christensen and Frank Hvam, to write his next feature. Putting the Klown sequel aside for the time being, the pair are now working on elegantly titled The Lesbian according to Variety, who say of the upcoming pic:

Story is inspired by Cecil Chao, the Hong Kong billionaire who in September offered $65 million to any man who succeeded in marrying his lesbian daughter. Chao’s offer made international headlines last year following reports that his daughter had a French church bless her relationship with her longtime girlfriend.

Sofia Coppola and the $40,000 hookers

As well as an interesting conversation with Sofia Coppola, The Hollywood Reporter also takes readers inside the glitz and glamour of the Cannes Film Festival. Or its sex workers, at least, providing an account of the high end call girls that descend on the city during the festival, and apparently earn up to $40,000 a night.

It’s not just The Hollywood Reporter paying attention here, apparently the influx is unavoidable, the story quoting a 2010 Roger Ebert tweet: “Hookers stand out in Cannes. They’re the ones who are well-dressed and not smoking”.
