DocEdge Festival Hits Wellington this Week
After doing the rounds in Auckland, the DocEdge Festival has made its way to our nation’s capital, bringing a whole load of quality documentaries to you fine Wellingtonians.
Included in the line-up is the Oscar nominated How to Survive a Plague, which made Aaron Yap’s list of 10 DocEdge films to get excited about. The doco looks back at the political and medical battle undertaken by activists that ended the darkest days of the AIDS epidemic in the 1980s and ’90s, turning the virus from a death sentence into a manageable condition.
Another to watch out for is Red White Black & Blue, James Croot describes the film as an “appalling coverage of a tour of New Zealand by high school rugby teams from South Central LA,” in his list of 10 DocEdge films to seek out.
