Filmmaker Behind ‘Hoop Dreams’ to Deliver Doc Edge Clinic in New Zealand

The Documentary New Zealand Trust is launching Doc Edge Clinics, which aims to provide filmmakers the opportunity to learn from industry experts as well as to present their works in progress and receive feedback.

The first event kicks off this October with Frederick Marx (Hoop Dreams), the critically acclaimed U.S. filmmaker who will deliver a masterclass on the growing importance and impact of social change documentaries. He will also discuss documentary storytelling techniques, mentor a selected group of filmmakers who present and discuss their projects with him.

Venue: AUT (Auckland University of Technology)

Date: Saturday, 24 October 2015  |  9am – 6pm

Cost: $40   PROGRAMME & SIGN UP (open to anyone – not just filmmakers)

In addition to Doc Edge Clinic, Frederick Marx will present two of his films Journey from Zanskar & Boys to Men? on Friday & Saturday, 23 & 24 Oct at 6.30pm respectively.
