From the World of John Wick: Ballerina – New Zealand trailer and release date

The Baba Yaga may be dead, but John Wick‘s shadowy world of assassins and conspiracies keeps turning. Now, here comes Ana de Armas to drop some bodies for our entertainment.

When is From the World of John Wick: Ballerina being released in New Zealand?

From the World of John Wick: Ballerina hits New Zealand cinemas—probably repeatedly, with small caliber, sub-sonic ammunition—on June 5, 2025.

What is From the World of John Wick: Ballerina about?

All we know at the moment is that it takes place between John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and John Wick: Chapter 4 and sees ballerina Eve Macarro training as an assassin for the Ruska Roma before heading off on a roaring rampage of revenge on behalf of her presumably late father. Apparently this ticks somebody off, judging by the trailer, because our man JW is sent in to clean things up.

The cast of From the World of John Wick: Ballerina

We got a pretty great cast and the usual selection of portentous and vaguely silly titles, including Ana de Armas as Eve Macarro; Anjelica Huston as The Director; Gabriel Byrne as The Chancellor, apparently the main villain; the late and much-missed Lance Reddick as Charon, the concierge at the Continental Hotel in New York; Norman Reedus as man of mystery Daniel Pine; Ian McShane as Winston Scott, owner of the New York Continental; Sharon Duncan-Brewster as Nogi, Eve’s mentor; Catalina Sandino Moreno and David Castañeda in undisclosed roles; and, of course, Keanu Reeves as John Wick.

This one comes to us from Army of the Dead and Rebel Moon writer Shay Hatten and Underworld director Len Wiseman, making his first feature film since 2012’s Total Recall. Make of that what you will.

Why we’re excited about From the World of John Wick: Ballerina

Assuming they keep the titular hero of the franchise in the ground (and they should) we’re keen to see if this particular cinematic universe can survive without its tentpole character.
