The doco based on Naomi Klein’s non-fiction best-seller This Changes Everything comes to the big screen in innovative fashion around New Zealand this October. The film, examining whether the crisis of climate change presents an opportunity to correct exploitative economic systems, will be released through Tugg New Zealand on 20 October 2015. Tugg is a web platform enabling crowd sourced screenings, offering audiences the ability to bring a film screening to a local cinema of their choosing. Following the premiere of This Changes Everything, to be hosted by the Auckland Branch of the Green Party at Rialto Cinemas Newmarket on Monday October 19 at 6.30pm, screenings via Tugg will commence nationwide.

Based on Naomi Klein’s critically acclaimed best selling book, This Changes Everything, director Avi Lewis has produced a game-changing documentary film that is going to have a general release through Tugg New Zealand on 20 October 2015 following its premiere.
This Changes Everything will have the Tugg New Zealand premiere screening on 19 October at 6.30 pm at the Rialto Cinemas in Newmarket, Auckland, where the evening will be hosted by The Green Party of Aotearoa New Zealand and is available for booking throughout New Zealand from 20 October.
Shot in 9 countries over the course of 4 years, This Changes Everything had its World Premiere at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival on 13 September 2015.
The documentary presents seven powerful portraits of communities on the front lines of both fossil fuel extraction and the climate crisis it is driving. Interwoven with these stories of struggle is Klein’s narration, connecting the carbon in the air with the economic system that put it there. The film builds to its most controversial and exciting idea: that we can seize the existential crisis of climate change to transform our failed economic system into something radically better.
Klein says, “Traveling around the world with the book in the last year, I’m finding audiences hungry for bold, visionary responses, far beyond the cautious policy tweaks offered by political leaders. The real leadership is coming from the streets, from communities: we’re honored to tell these stories and bring these voices to a wider audience.”
