Grand Finalists announced for Vista Foundation 48Hours 2022
With 2022’s Vista Foundation 48Hours finalists announced, the only question remaining is who’ll triumph at the Civic (if it’s not submerged as seen above) on Friday 18 November.
For 20 consecutive years, Aotearoa’s greatest and largest filmmaking competition has been a triumph of furious filmmaking, talent discovery and development. 48Hours alumni are well known (ok, we will remind you here that they include Taika Waititi and pretty much anyone making stuff this millennium). An incredible 555 registered teams have now been reduced to 16 impressive finalists left standing—who’ll compete alongside two Sir Peter Jackson wildcards at the Vista Foundation 48Hours Grand Final 2022, hosted by Tom Sainsbury at Tāmaki Makaurau’s Civic Theatre on Friday 18th November 2022 (buy tickets here)
With $90,000 of prizes up for grabs, there’s plenty for this year’s Grand Finalists to be excited about taking home, not least of all the enormous honour of winning one of the awards on offer. We’ll come back to that in a moment, but first, let’s introduce the 2022 Finalists—who I’m allowed to say (because I am not Liam) include Flicks’ own Liam Maguren aka Mitchell’s Here. Congratulations on being a Finalist, Liam (oh, ok, and everyone else…).
