Host a ‘Zombie Holocaust’ in Your Local Kiwi Cinema with Tugg.co.nz
Kiwi movie fans will get the chance to see I Survived a Zombie Holocaust via the medium that suits them best when local distributor Vendetta Films release the film simultaneously in Cinemas, on VOD and DVD and in a NZ first, via the Cinema on Demand website Tugg.co.nz on May 22nd 2015.
Harnessing the power of online communities, Cinemagoers will be invited to head to tugg.co.nz to request a screening at their local cinema, then spread the word to their communities. Once the necessary amount of people have committed to attending the screening, the event will be confirmed. Tugg manages all of the logistics – reserves the cinema, manages ticketing and ensures delivery of the film; allowing the audience to sit back and enjoy the show. Even better, the organiser gets a cut of the proceeds from each screening. This is the same platform that allowed Kiwis in Australia to see The Dead Lands in Australian cinemas and no doubt they will also be lining up for a second serve of great Kiwi cinema.
I Survived a Zombie Holocaust will also have regular screenings at cinemas in centers around the country, be available on DVD (from The Warehouse, JB Hi Fi and Mighty Ape) and on VOD sites (iTunes, Quickflix and NZ Film On Demand) all on the same day.
Fresh from premiere screenings at Frightfest, Screamfest and Fright Nights film festivals, I Survived a Zombie Holocaust follows Wesley, (Harley Neville) a low-budget film’s runner who has the first day from hell when the zombie extras start turning into REAL flesh eating, un-dead zombies.
Writer and Director Guy Pidgen cant wait to give local fans the chance to check out the film via the medium that suits them best.
“I’m very excited for genre fans to get a chance to watch the first true kiwi zombie film since Braindead and provide them access to it in any way they want via our simultaneous multi platform release”
The film stars Harley Neville (Second Hand Wedding), Jocelyn Christian (Bogan Family Films) and Ben Baker (Sione’s Wedding, Street Legal) alongside well known faces Reanin Johannink (All Cheerleaders Die), Andrew Laing (Underbelly, Spartacus) and Mike Edward (Nothing Trivial, The Strip, Spartacus).
It was the first film to be shot in Dunedin with a local cast and crew in 15 years. The film was selected in Nerdly U.K’s top ten films of 2014 and won the independent spirit award at Sydney’s Night of horror film festival. Receiving favourable comparisons to Peter Jackson’s Braindead, critics are calling this ‘’One of the funniest Zombie comedies”.
