How to watch Dream Productions in New Zealand
It seems like Inside Out 2 only came out a minute and a half ago, but we’re already heading back into Riley’s head for more allegorical emotional shenanegans. Specifically, in the bit of her brain that makes dreams. They probably wanted to knock this one out before she hit puberty.
How to watch Dream Productions in New Zealand
Dream Productions is streaming in New Zealand exclusively on Disney+ (there’s a shock) from December 11, 2024.
What is Dream Productions about?
I mean, there’s not too much more to it, except to point out that they’ve decided the dream factory in Riley’s noggin functions pretty much exactly like a Hollywood studio, which means they can ever-so-gently extract the urine from the film industry. Apparently the idea of making it look like an animation studio was briefly floated, until someone pointed out that 500 underpaid employees working 18 hour days wasn’t visually interesting.
The cast of Dream Productions
Returning we have Kensington Tallman as Riley Andersen, and as her emotions Joy, Disgust, Fear, Anger, and Sadness, we have Amy Poehler, Liza Lapira, Tony Hale, Lewis Black, and Phyllis Smith, respectively. New to the mix we have Paula Pell as dream director Paula Persimmon and Richard Ayoade as Xeni, a pretentious daydream director. Maya Rudolph and Ally Maki are slated to appear in yet-to-be-revealed roles, plus Sumayyah Nuriddin-Green voices Bree Young.

Why we’re excited about Dream Productions
Well, the Inside Out movies are both good and hugely successful at the box office, a rare and welcome combination. So we’re always pretty happy to get another look inside Riley’s head, especially since nobody seems to remember Herman’s Head. It’s a bit odd that this didn’t get upgraded to a full theatrical feature like Moana 2, though, especially when you conside that the four episodes clock in at 82 minutes. But let’s not quibble over trivialities.
