How to watch Fallout season 1 in New Zealand
One of the most popular video game franchises of all time crawls out of the wasteland and onto your TV! Brought to us by Westworld‘s Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, the much-anticipated Fallout series is imminent.
How to watch Fallout season 1 in New Zealand
Fallout is streaming in New Zealand exclusively on Amazon Prime Video from April 12, 2024.
What is Fallout about?
Set in a retro-futuristic post-apocalyptic wasteland populated by mutants, ghouls, deathclaws, radscorpions, and the odd wandering power armour aficionado, Fallout chucks all of the familiar after-the-bomb tropes into a blender to produce something unique.
Or, as the official synopsis would have it: “Based on one of the greatest video games of all time, Fallout is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have. 200 years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the incredibly complex, gleefully weird and highly violent universe waiting for them above.”
The cast of Fallout
Ella Purnell is Lucy, a young Vault Dweller and the hero of our tale; Walton Goggins is Cooper Howard, a gunslinging ghoul; Kyle MacLachlan is Hank, Lucy’s father and the Overseer of the Vault they live in; with Xelia Mendes-Jones, Mike Doyle, Moisés Arias, Johnny Pemberton, Cherien Dabis, Dale Dickey, Matty Cardarople, Sarita Choudhury, Michael Emerson, Leslie Uggams, Chris Parnell, Frances Turner, Dave Register, Zach Cherry, Rodrigo Luzzi, Annabel O’Hagan in support.

Why we’re excited about Fallout
Well, for one thing the games are absolute bangers—but we’re mindful that even chucking bulk money at Halo didn’t result in a memorable series. But Nolan and Joy are absolute guns, the teaser looks great, and Walton Goggins as a radioactive quickdraw artist is worth the price of admission alone. Bit disappointed there’s no Ron Perlman in the mix, though, as the craggy-faced legend has been narrating the games since day one. Surely he’s gonna make an appearance?
