How to watch Furiosa in New Zealand
We’ve been quietly losing our minds since legendary director George Miller averred that he had a few more ideas for stories set in the world of Mad Max back when Fury Road hit. Now, at last, we’re getting our first look at a bigger wasteland with Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.

What is Furiosa about?
Set 45 years after the collapse of civilisation (George Miller cares not one whit for continuity, and you should make peace with that) this is the origin story of the Imperator Furiosa. She’s captured by the Warlord Dementus and spends the rest of her life battling to return to the Green Place of Many Mothers, facing off against the usual collection of post-apocalyptic grotesques and in all likelihood having a car chase or two. And as fans of Fury Road know, it takes some time. Also, that arm’s coming off at some point.
The cast of Furiosa
Anya Taylor-Joy takes over from Charlize Theron as Furiosa, with relative newcomer Alyla Browne as the younger Furiosa; Chris Hemsworth (and a rather distracting false nose) is ocker warlord Dementus; and Angus Sampson and Nathan Jones are back as The Organic Mechanic and Rictus Erectus, respectively, along with John Howard as the People Eater, who you’ll remember from the last film.
Subbing in for the late, great, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Lachy Hulme straps on the gas mask to play a younger Immortan Joe, while Tom Burke, Daniel Weber, Josh Helman, Charlee Fraser, Daniel Weber, and Quaden Bayles are also in the mix.

Why we’re excited about Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
Because we have a pulse. Early reviews have been overwhelmingly positive, and our man Luke Buckmaster was suitably impressed. But let’s be real here—George Miller’s making a Mad Max movie, so we’re in.
