How to watch Havoc in New Zealand

Gareth Evans, the man behind the cinematic mayhem of The Raid and the addictive, bone-crunching crime drama Gangs of London, is back! And Tom Hardy’s coming with him!

How to watch Havoc in New Zealand

Havoc is streaming in Australia exclusively on Netflix from April 25, 2025.

What is Havoc about?

Look, the plot is incidental, yeah? All we know is that after a drug deal goes sour, a battered and bloodied detective, Walker (that’ll be Tom Hardy, then) has to fight his way across the city to rescue politician Lawrence Beaumont’s estranged son before a gang war engulfs the city. Or possibly there’ll be a gang war if he’s not killed promptly. It’s a little fuzzy. But it is, mark out words, an excuse for sequence after sequence of brutal fights, which Evans has proven to have a knack for.

Havoc was shot a few years back, but reshoots were delayed due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes and other factors, so we’ve been waiting a while for this one. And despite being clearly set in the US, it was actually shot in Wales, where Evans hails from, and is one of the biggest productions ever shot there.

The cast of Havoc

Tom Hardy is Walker; Jessie Mei Li of Netflix’s dark teen fantasy Shadow and Bone is Ellie; Timothy “Raylan Givens now and forever” Olyphant is Vincent; the mercurial and magisterial Forest Whitaker is Lawrence Beaumont; Justin Cornwell is Charlie; Quelin Sepulveda is Mia; Luis Guzmán is Raul, and everything is always improved by his presence; with Michelle Waterson, Sunny Pang, Jim Caesar, Xelia Mendes-Jones, Yeo Yann Yann, Serhat Metin, Richard Pepper, Tony Parker, and Megan Lockhurst in supporting roles.
