How to watch Severance season 2 in New Zealand

Probably the best thing streaming on Apple TV+, Severance hit us with a stellar, mind-blowing first season before disappearing for two full years thanks to the writers’ and directors strikes. How extremely frustrating! Almost as frustrating as being trapped inside a job you hate by yourself! But kind of appropriate to the themes of the show, when you think about it.

How to watch Severance season 2 in New Zealand

Season two of Severance arrives in New Zealand on Apple TV+ on January 17, 2025.

What is Severance season 2 about?

At the sterile, surreal offices of Lumon Industries, worker drones “benefit from” medically separating their work selves (“innies”) and their real selves (“outies”). This allows them to truly clock off once work is done, with no memory of the day’s mysterious events. It has obvious benefits for our protagonist Mark (Adam Scott), a chipper cubicle mate within the office walls and a depressed widower at home—the severance process allowing him to waste most of the day in a basically unconscious state. But for others, like new hire Helly (Britt Lower), the dissociative drudgery of life at Lumon became too much to handle.

Our literal wage slave heroes (including Zach Cherry and a heartbreaking John Turturro) ended season one with a daring escape attempt, uncovering layer upon layer of conspiracy at the company all along. What happens next is anyone’s guess.

The cast of Severance season 2

Adam Scott is Mark Scout, a former history professor grieving the death of his wife; Zach Cherry is Dylan George, Mark’s severed co-worker; Britt Lower is new employee Helly Riggs; Tramell Tillman is supervisor Seth Milchick; Jen Tullock is Devon Scout-Hale, Mark’s pregnant sister; Dichen Lachman is wellness counselor Ms. Casey; Michael Chernus as Ricken Hale, Mark’s brother-in-law; John Turturro as Irving Bailiff, Mark’s co-worker; Christopher Walken is Burt Goodman, another severed employee and the head of the Optics and Design division; and Patricia Arquette is sinister manager Harmony Cobel. Joining the company this year are Gwendoline Christie, Bob Balaban, Merritt Wever, and Alia Shawkat.
