How to watch That ’90s Show season 2 in New Zealand
It’s a bit weird to be watching a show predicated on nostalgia for the ’90s and for a ’90s series that was itself predicated on nostalgia for the ’70s. And if that sentence didn’t make sense, it’s like we said—it’s a bit weird.
How to watch That ’90s Show season 2 in New Zealand
That ’90s Show season 2 is streaming in New Zealand exclusively on Netflix from June 27. Technically it’s season two part one, with eight episodes dropping initially, and a further salvo of another eight launching on October 24.
What is That ’90s Show season 2 about?
Look, it’s That ’70s Show: The Next Generation, with the teenage children of the now-adult protagonists of the original series, plus a few extra hangers-on, love interests, and what have you, hanging out with good ol’ Red and Kitty. They’re now grandparents and, as ever, the secret sauce that makes this pop culture burger sing. So, instead of Eric and Donna and Kelso and Jackie and Fez and ol’ whatisface, we have Eric and Donna’s daughter, Leia, Kelso and Jackie’s son, Jay, and the usual rotation of guest stars.
The cast of That ’90s Show season 2
Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp are back as Red and Kitty, with the rest of the cast filled out by children – literal children we are too old to recognise. Callie Haverda is Leia, Mace Coronel is Jay, Ashley Aufderheide is Gwen, Reyn Doi is Ozzie, Sam Morelos is Nikki, and Maxwell Acee Donovan is Nate. The CIA couldn’t get their filmographies out of us.
But the guest stars? Oh, these guys we know. In addition to confirmed returning OG alumni Laura Prepon (Donna), Don Stark (Bob), and Tommy Chong (Leo), we’ve got Seth Green, Wayne Knight, and Will Forte, who all cropped up in the old series in various capacities, plus Kadeem Hardison, Lisa Loeb, Carmen Electra, Matt Rife, Kevin Smith, and his hetero lifemate Jason Mewes. Snoogans (a thing we never said in the ’90s).
No sign of Danny Masterson, but who knows what season 30 might bring?

Why we’re excited about That ’90s Show season 2
Our doctor says we shouldn’t get excited for medical reasons, but this amiable, low stakes retrofest might be just the ticket. We’d tell you to get off our lawn, but we’ve never been able to afford one.
Also, Smashing Pumpkins’ James Iha does the musical score. He’s 56 now. How’s your back?
