How to watch The Fall of the House of Usher in New Zealand
The Fall of the House of Usher debuts in New Zealand on October 13, exclusively on Netflix.
What is The Fall of the House of Usher about?
Less a straight adaptation and more a deliriously OTT riff on Eddie Poe’s greatest hits, the series sees elderly pharmaceutical magnate Roderick Usher (Bruce Greenwood) narrate how each of his six rather horrible children met their deaths, all orchestrated by a mysterious spectral figure (Carla Gugino) who appears to be punishing the family for their various misdeeds. If Roger Corman had produced Succession, it might look at bit like this.
The cast of The Fall of the House of Usher
In addition to the above, we’re getting Carl Lumbly as C. Auguste Dupin, Poe’s detective hero; Mary McDonnell as Madeline Usher, Roderick’s twin sister; Samantha Sloyan, T’Nia Miller, Rahul Kohli, Kate Siegel, Sauriyan Sapkota, and Henry Thomas as various Usher offspring, plus Mark Hamill, Michael Trucco, Katie Palmer, Annabeth Gish, and more. Flanagan loves his stock company players, so you’ll note plenty of familiar faces from his previous work. Pointedly not appearing is Frank Langella, who was fired from the production after being investigated for misconduct.
