How to watch The Last Anniversary in New Zealand

It seems like it was only seconds ago that we were writing about yet another Nicole Kidman project, and that’s because it was only seconds ago, and you can read about it here. But in the case of this literary adaptation, the former Mrs. Cruise is on producing duties rather than in front of the camera.
How to watch The Last Anniversary in New Zealand
The Last Anniversary is streaming in New Zealand on AMC+ from March 30. 2025.
The Last Anniversary: Season 1
What is The Last Anniversary about?
Based on the 2005 novel by much-adapted Australian author Liane Moriarty (who also gave us Big Little Lies and Nine Perfect Strangers, both of which starred Nicole Kidman when they were translated to the small screen), The Last Anniversary sees a young woman, Sophie Honeywell, inherit a house on the strikingly-named Scribbly Gum Island from her ex-boyfriend’s great-aunt Connie.
As is so often the case in these things, the island holds secrets a-plenty. After receiving a pretty cool reception from the locals, she starts to dig into said secrets—particularly the story of Connie, her sister Rose, and the abandoned baby of dubious provenance they raised together. It’s all family scandals and long-buried mysteries, we assume, having not read the book.
Slated for six episodes, this one comes to us from the pen of Samantha Strauss, who adapted the aforementioned Nine Perfect Strangers as well as outback noir The Dry, with John Polson on directing duties.
The cast of The Last Anniversary
Teresa Palmer is Sophie Honeywell, with Miranda Richardson, Danielle Macdonald, Helen Thomson, Susan Prior, Claude Scott-Mitchell, Charlie Garber, Uli Latukefu, and Jeremy Lindsay Taylor in as-yet-undisclosed supporting roles, but we assume fans of the book should be able to make a few educated guesses.

Why we’re excited about The Last Anniversary
Well, one thing’s for sure—Nicole Kidman’s a real big fan of Liane Moriarty. If you are too, it’s a safe bet you’ll dig this.
