Insane superhero flick The Man Who Feels No Pain coming to NZ cinemas
Yes, yes, yes. We’re all excited for Captain Marvel, Shazam and Avengers: Endgame. But have you heard of India’s insane award-winning superhero flick The Man Who Feels No Pain?
The story follows a young boy with a rear condition that grants him the ability to not feel pain. He aids his gift by learning martial arts and becoming a superhero in adulthood. Pulling off a major upset against David Gordon Green’s Halloween, The Man Who Feels No Pain won the Midnight Madness award at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival.
Screen Anarchy called it “a revelation in Indian action cinema, a balls out action comedy pastiche that both hews close to its Bollywood stylistic roots and at the same time extends the reach of the local art form to make it a perfect crossover project.”
It’s a bit of a cinematic lolly scramble of superhero films in the next coming months and The Man Who Feels No Pain slots itself nicely in New Zealand cinemas, releasing in select locations March 21.
