Mt Smart to become a drive-in theatre for an epic Bohemian Rhapsody screening
On 29 January, Auckland’s Mt Smart Stadium will transform into a drive-in theatre for one epic screening of Oscar-winning Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody.
From Kiwi writer Anthony McCarten, who most recently penned Netflix release The Two Popes, the story follows Queen and Freddy Mercury (Rami Malek in an Oscar-winning performance) as they rise to legendary status with the production of some of the most iconic songs ever made.
With a four-person-per-car limit and space for only 200 cars, keen punters will want to get in quick before all the slots are taken (grab tickets here). If the vehicle view isn’t for you, there’s also tickets for grass seating—just be sure to bring a bean bag or low seat.
The film plays at Mt Smart Stadium nine days before Queen + Adam Lambert’s The Rhapsody Tour (grab tickets here).
