New to NZ Cinemas – ‘Inferno’, Scientology, Korean Films & Kiwi Classics
This week’s cinema treats include the third film from Ron Howard’s The Da Vinci Code series, even more great Korean films, a fair helping of Kiwi classics, and one of the first movie sequels that actually lived up to the original.

As part of the Korean Festival in Auckland, Academy Cinemas are hosting FREE screenings of five Korean flicks – including the incredibly fun heist adventure The Thieves.
Japanese Film Festival | In Wellington 18th – 22nd Oct. @ The Embassy
At the exact same time in Wellington, the Japanese Film Festival will be screening six FREE films at the Paramount. Each screening is preceded by a short doco on Japanese culture.

The hard-hitting New Zealand classic about a violent and troubled family in South Auckland, based on Alan Duff’s novel. Directed by Lee Tamahori and featuring a towering performance from Temuera Morrison as Jake the Muss.

Taika Waititi’s second feature film (after Eagle vs. Shark and episodes of TV’s Flight of the Conchords), is a coming-of-age comedy set in the ’80s, East Coast, New Zealand.
