Weathering With You, the latest anime from the director of smash hit Your Name, will open in New Zealand cinemas 22 August. Confirmed locations include Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Hamilton, Dunedin, New Plymouth, Palmerston North and Tauranga.
The film follows a high school boy who has run away to Tokyo where he meets a girl who can manipulate the weather. For anyone who’s seen director Makoto Shinkai’s previous film, you know what this means—a flight-of-fancy romance filled with ridiculously gorgeous shots of the sky.
These screenings are presented in Japanese with English subtitles. As an added bonus for Aucklanders, the film’s also playing in IMAX over at Event Cinemas Queen Street.
