Revealed: NZIFF 2022 programme erupts with quality cinema
Whānau Mārama: New Zealand International Film Festival (NZIFF) has announced its full programme for 2022.
Having teased us with its first batch of announced films, its Aotearoa selection of features, and a dozen sublime grabs from Cannes, the NZIFF maunga has fully erupted with its full programme for 2022.
Look, we won’t overwhelm you by listing off all the good stuff in this programme. The official NZIFF 2022 trailer below (cut together by Thomas Burton for Flicks) does a damn good job of what you’re in for (if we do say so ourselves). You can dive deeper into the programme by visiting the official NZIFF website.
Having missed in-cinema screenings last year, Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) film-lovers will be able to experience the festival’s programme on the big screen once again. The Opening Night Gala will take place at the mighty Civic theatre on Thursday 28 July, screening filmmaker Tearepa Kahi’s highly-anticipated true story thriller Muru.
The film will also screen at the Opening Night Galas at The Embassy Theatre, Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) on Thursday 4 August, Isaac Theatre Royal, Ōtautahi (Christchurch) on Friday 5 August, and Rialto Cinemas, Ōtepoti (Dunedin) on Thursday 11 August, before opening in nine other regions around the country throughout August.
For full details of this year’s NZIFF, as well as a digital version of the programme, head over to the official NZIFF website. Printed versions of the programme will be available at festival venues soon.
