What is The Bad Guys 2 about?
Following on from the smash hit 2022 animated film The Bad Guys and, like that flick, adapted from the wildly popular book series by Australian author Aaron Blabey, The Bad Guys 2 sees the titular former villains, anthropomorphic animals of species we normally hate and fear (so it’s a bit like the X-Men) drawn out of retirement for the de rigeur one last job by a gang of criminals and fans known as the Bad Girls.
And so we proceed from there, hopefully recapturing the magic of the original, which we must admit we slept on, much to our chagrin. Apparently it’s pretty good. It’s a bit weird that there appears to be no screenwriter credited for the sequel, though, apart from original author Blabey. What’s up with that?

You’ve got Sam Rockwell as Mr. Wolf, the leader of the Bad Guys; Marc Maron as Mr. Snake, Mr. Wolf’s his bestie and 2IC; Anthony Ramos as Mr. Piranha, the muscle; Awkwafina as Ms. Tarantula, aka “Webs”, the team’s hacker; Danielle Brooks as Kitty Kat, the snow leopard leader of the Bad Girls; Natasha Lyonne as Doom, a raven, Bad Girls, and Snake’s love interest (that’s a crazy good fit); Maria Bakalova as Pigtail, a wild boar Bad Girl; Zazie Beetz as Governor Diane Foxington, a red fox, former criminal, and Wolf’s love interest; Richard Ayoade as Professor Marmalade, the gang’s guinea pig nemesis; Lilly Singh as Tiffany Fluffit, a human news reporter; Alex Borstein as Misty Luggins, the human chief of police; and Jorge R. Gutierrez, director of the criminally underappreciated and way better than Coco The Book of Life, has a cameo.
