The Breaker Upperers cracks up SXSW Audiences
Written, directed and starring Jackie van Beek and Madeleine Sami, Kiwi rom-com The Breaker Upperers had audiences cracking up at its world premiere at SXSW.
Sami and van Beek “may prove to be [New Zealand’s] funniest exports,” writes Film School Rejects. “The whole thing has great energy and might be one of the funniest films I’ve seen this year (or last).”
Next Projection concurred: “Madeleine Sami and Jackie van Beek have a confident comedic voice that has the ease of your funny friend, just with a whole heap of a lot more skill.”
The film also lit up on social media platforms…
