The Last Jedi director and Daniel Craig team up for original murder mystery
While he waits for the delayed Bond 25 production to start, Daniel Craig will star in original murder mystery Knives Out by writer-director Rian Johnson, Deadline reports. The filmmaker either reignited or defiled the Star Wars franchise with The Last Jedi depending on which fans you listen to (Flicks writer Tony Stamp elaborates on that fandom).
This new film, an original murder mystery with a completed script, came from Johnson’s love of Agatha Christie’s novels. Craig took to the screenplay. “He’s an actor of extraordinary range,” Johnson told Deadline. “We are looking forward to the fun of finding that modern detective, and collaborating with Daniel on creating a new Poirot.”
As of writing, Flicks has no knowledge whether or not Craig is willing to grow a moustache that matches the majesty of Kenneth Branagh’s from Murder on the Orient Express. Johnson has yet to comment on the matter.
