Violently bonkers Nicolas Cage film Mandy returns to NZ for limited run
It is our absolute delight to tell you that violently bonkers Nicolas Cage film Mandy is getting a limited cinema run in New Zealand from 25 October at Auckland’s Academy Cinemas, Wellington’s Roxy Cinema, and Christchurch’s Alice Cinemas.
The film played to packed-out audiences during the New Zealand International Film Festival, which was proudly sponsored by Flicks. At the Hollywood Avondale screening, we armed audiences with the faces of Cage. If you’ve never seen a room full of Cages before, here you go…
We ranked the film high on our list of the 18 best films of NZIFF ’18. It also found its way into the hearts of some big-name movie nerds.

MANDY is like every amazing exploitation poster of the 80s fully realized in the way you imagined it. On acid. It wears its influences on its sleeve, then adds to the conversation, making something truly, magnificently, deranged. Unlike A N Y T H I N G you have ever seen. pic.twitter.com/w5MgNQ4tIR

Mandy is what happens when you make a healthy smoothie in blender containing equal parts of Jodorowsky, Argento, Lynch, Evil Dead, Hellraiser, Rambo, overcooked LSD, pure coke, blood, gasoline & overall love of the 80s. I.e. it’s f*****g amazing!#RakkauttaJaAnarkiaa #mandymovie pic.twitter.com/rFOc1R1dFU

…and you’ll probably also want to know why the film’s Twitter account is called @CheddarGoblin.
The digestive enzymes from my stomach not only help to create the creamy goodness which is Cheddar Goblin, but also induces joy-filled hysterics in the kiddos!
