When is Freakier Friday being released in New Zealand?

Remember the old Disney body swap classic Freaky Friday, starring Jodie Foster? Remember how it was remade in 2003 with Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis? That version’s getting a sequel—and much to our surprise, it’s the seventh film in the franchise.

When is Freakier Friday being released in New Zealand?

Freakier Friday is screening in New Zealand cinemas from August 7, 2025.

What is Freakier Friday about?

Body swapping!

Decades after they switched bodies via the medium of a couple of magical fortune cookies, mum (now grandmother) Tess and daughter (and now mother) Anna Coleman find themselves switching again. But it’s way more complicated this time, as Anna’s daughter, Harper, and stepdaughter, Lily, are also in the mix. Exactly who winds up in which body we leave as an exercise for those with enough string and sticky notes to hand. Hijinks presumably ensue and lessons are no doubt learned
