When will Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two be released in New Zealand?
Why, it seems like only yesterday that the hotly anticipated action blockbuster Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One was released into cinemas around the globe. Still, fans are already clamouring for details on the release of the upcoming sequel. So we’re happy to tell you that Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two explodes into Australian cinemas on July 24, 2024. Light the fuse!
The eighth film in the powerhouse M:I film franchise, Dead Reckoning Part Two will, naturally, follow on directly from the cliffhanger ending of Part One. Once again relentless secret agent Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise, of course) will be hot on the trail of both The Entity, a hyper-advanced artificial intelligence that serves as this season’s McGuffin, and the ruthless but unarguably suave terrorist mastermind Gabriel (Esai Morales, clearly enjoying himself).
There will be stunts. Many of them, of increasing complexity, impressiveness, and suicidality. Although how they’ll top Part One‘s jaw-dropping motorbike-cliff-parachute-train sequence has us stumped. Perhaps Cruise will simply fling himself into an active volcano. We wouldn’t be surprised one iota.
But, as ever, plot details are presumably in an armoured briefcase cuffed to some functionary’s arm, because we’ve seen none. But we do know that we’ll be seeing many familiar faces in the cast, with Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Hayley Atwell, Vanessa Kirby, Shea Whigham, Henry Czerny, Pom Klementieff and more all returning to the fold, plus newbies Nick Offerman and Holt McCallany, and in all likelihood a small army of stunt mooks for the Cruiser to obliterate. And, of course, Tom’s fave director Christopher McQuarrie will be calling the shots once more.
So, that’s the mission. Do you choose to accept?
