Here’s the official synopsis: Paul Carpenter accidentally becomes a new intern at the mysterious London firm J. W. Wells & Co. He shares a desk with Sophie Pettingel, a straight-A recruit destined for senior management. The pair quickly become aware that their new employer is anything but conventional. When Sophie is headhunted by the Department of Coincidence, Paul is charmed by the CEO Humphrey Wells into hunting for the world’s most powerful and coveted item – The Portable Door. Paul’s obscure and dangerous mission will drag him from the depths of the Goblin-infested basement to the heights of the Himalayas – and everywhere in between. As he searches far and wide Paul will grow from boy-with-no-idea-just-a-workplace-crush to a young man on the verge of saving the world – and the woman he loves. To achieve his destiny, Paul will have to face his mentor, Mr. Wells, and sabotage the most insidious and evil plan that ever threatened the human race.
