Win double passes to stunning documentary Becoming Cousteau
Becoming Cousteau uses wonderful archival footage to chronicle the life of an ocean-mad filmmaker and pioneer.
UPDATE – winners have been drawn and contacted by email
A new documentary by multi-Oscar-nominated director Liz Garbus examines the truly epic life of ocean explorer Jacques Yves Cousteau who sailed the globe with his misfit crew of divers and filmmakers. Becoming Cousteau tracks the Frenchman on his journey from diver to inventor, naval officer, oceanographer, oil explorer, filmmaker, environmentalist and household name. With a ton of archival footage (yes, some very much showing Cousteau as the inspiration for The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou).
“Light on personal revelations (Cousteau scathingly rejects self-analysis at one point: “My world inside is nothing for me”), but still wonderful, and with a strong focus on Cousteau as filmmaker.” -Steve Newall, Flicks
