What is You season 5 about?
The further adventures of obsessive stalker Joe Goldberg, aka Will Bettelheim, aka Jonathan Moore, aka…well, there’s bound to be more, right? Based on the series of novels by author Caroline Kepnes, You follows the aforementioned rotter as he stalks various women he’s become obsessed with, swapping identities and occasionally dropping bodies as the situation demands. He’s a bit like Dexter, if Dexter was more concerned with getting laid than killing people. Or perhaps it’s the televisual equivalent of that one song by The Police, which made you pause when you finally looked up the lyrics. Or a really dumb Tom Ripley. We could go on.
This season sees our antihero return to New York City with new British wife Kate Lockwood-Goldberg in tow, where he…I dunno, finds someone new to stalk, we suppose? The pattern is clear. You provides measured doses of illicit thrills like clockwork, and there’s no reason to think this final season won’t do more of the same.
