The assorted humiliations, disasters and rare triumphs of four very different twenty-something girls: Hannah, an aspiring writer; Marnie, an art gallery assistant and cousins Jessa and Shoshanna.

Season 2 opens with Hannah throwing a housewarming party with brand-new roommate Elijah, but is finding it hard to move on when she’s still playing nurse to Adam. Marnie gets bad news at work, and Jessa returns from her honeymoon.

At the beginning of Season 3, Shoshanna is trying to balance her time at college between sex and studying, while Marnie has to accept that she and Charlie are through.

Hannah begins grad student life, but struggles with some unexpected feedback. Jessa clashes with Beedie's daughter over her caretaker status.

Marnie prepares for her wedding day, Fran and Adam share an awkward moment, and Shoshanna thrives at her new job - until she finds herself flirting with her boss.

Season 7 begins with Hannah riding a wave of newfound career success. Hoping to break her old patterns post-divorce, Marnie tells Ray he needs to spend more time at his own place, but Adam and Jessa’s intensity drives him out of the apartment.
